Randy Gage<\/a><\/p>\nPeople often ask what it takes to be successful in Network Marketing.\u00a0 I have a short, simple answer\u2026<\/p>\n
All you got.<\/p>\n
Fortunately it doesn\u2019t take more than all you got.\u00a0 But it does take all you got.\u00a0 In fact, I\u2019ll suggest this business will be the hardest one you\u2019ll ever do, period.<\/p>\n
And I\u2019m qualified to make that statement.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been president of the Chamber of Commerce, worked in the corporate world, run distribution companies, managed medical centers, launched HMO\u2019s, started restaurants & clubs, Internet marketing, information entrepreneur, owned a hairstyling salon, and published a magazine.\u00a0 I\u2019ve consulted with literally hundreds of other entrepreneurs in all kinds of businesses.\u00a0 And can assure you, Network Marketing is harder than all of them!<\/p>\n
Why?<\/p>\n
Quite a few reasons.\u00a0 First, the essence of the business is leadership development.\u00a0 Not an easy thing to learn. Or teach.\u00a0 This takes tremendous people skills.<\/p>\n
Because of that, MLM requires large amounts of personal growth and self-development.\u00a0 And working on yourself is tough work!<\/p>\n
Other businesses you can get by on just skill, just talent or just money.\u00a0 Here you need heart.\u00a0 Guts.\u00a0 And love.<\/p>\n
With Network Marketing, you have to go all in.\u00a0 You can start it part-time, you can start it with a limited commitment, you can start it not even believing it will work.<\/p>\n
But to succeed at it, at some point you\u2019ll have to move from kindergarten to the big leagues.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have to go from a night or two a week, to four or five nights a week.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have to commit and you\u2019ll have to develop belief.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s why\u2026<\/p>\n
You can\u2019t really get anyone into our business.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t work that way.\u00a0 You can only commit, develop that belief and become so passionate that people want to be a part of what you\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n
MLM is like golf.\u00a0 The only person you compete with is yourself.\u00a0 The enemy isn\u2019t other companies.\u00a0 It\u2019s not negative prospects.\u00a0 And it\u2019s not government regulation, high prices, or backorders.\u00a0 The real enemy is your doubts and fears.\u00a0 It\u2019s what\u2019s between your ears.<\/p>\n
Most people today doubt their beliefs and believe their doubts.\u00a0 You have to be different.\u00a0 And that means daily self-development.\u00a0 Keeping your dream in front of you.\u00a0 And making sure your dream is bigger than your fears.<\/p>\n
Yeah, you can probably win a free cruise, get a bonus car and rake in some nice bonus checks.\u00a0 That would probably motivate you to go to a job every day.\u00a0 That would probably motivate you to do any one of those other businesses I named.\u00a0 But it\u2019s probably not enough to get you to do Network Marketing.<\/p>\n
Because our business is a lot tougher than those.\u00a0 Our business means contacting prospects, driving to work with long distance lines, and sacrificing lots of pleasures early on for the long term.\u00a0 It means really getting out of your comfort zone and growing.<\/p>\n
So your dream has to be even bigger.\u00a0 It has to include other people\u2019s dreams.\u00a0 Taking your eyes off of just yourself and looking how you can contribute in a meaningful way.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s going to mean facing rejection and maybe ridicule.\u00a0 Facing your fears.\u00a0 Dealing with dropouts and no shows.\u00a0 Negative publicity, misperceptions, and adversity.<\/p>\n
We know every adversity has in it the seeds of a greater opportunity.\u00a0 But that opportunity is not automatic!\u00a0 It is there only if you make a conscious choice not to be a victim; a conscious choice to learn the lesson and find a new door to walk through.\u00a0 And remember, every room has a door.<\/p>\n
Network Marketing is HARD.\u00a0 So why do it?<\/p>\n
Because it will be the most rewarding business you ever do in your life.\u00a0 Yes it can give you those trips, car and bonus checks; it can get you free.\u00a0 But it also does so much more\u2026<\/p>\n
The confidence you develop, the skills you learn, the satisfaction you gain are priceless.\u00a0 Who you have to become to be successful in our business makes it all worth it.<\/p>\n
And the joy that can only come from contribution\u2026<\/p>\n
When your new team member calls you screaming with excitement because they\u2019ve sponsored their first person.\u00a0\u00a0 The breakthroughs you witness when someone buys their first suit, makes their first presentation, or calls that prospect that scares them beyond measure. When one of your people conquers their fear in any way, it will bring you rewards you can\u2019t get anywhere else.<\/p>\n
In our business you reach success by helping other people reach success.\u00a0 That is what gets you up at 6 am to do self-development, that is what gets you to pick up the phone, that is what keeps you awake driving home at 2 am from a meeting for a new person on your tenth level.<\/p>\n
So yeah, it doesn\u2019t take more than you got.\u00a0 But it does take all you got.\u00a0 Just know it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n
So find someone you respect and make them a promise that you will do what it takes to win.\u00a0 Ask them to hold you accountable.\u00a0 Then make yourself the same promise.\u00a0 After that, make a public declaration below in the comments.\u00a0 Are you up for that?<\/p>\n
