Home is where the soul rests. I wasn’t resting as much as I should lately. Since the purchase of my new laptop, I’ve been hooked to it. Practically sleeping next to it. I even dine with it.
One fine Sunday, the possession got worst. I turned on my WIFI and found out that my neighbor has wireless broadband. My devious mind was ignited. “Kor, next door has wireless. Should we ask them to open up their network and share it?” I asked in anticipation to my brother, who now saw what my evil plot was. Sister and brother, hand in hand, united we open the door and knocked on our neighbor’s doors. We’ve been living next to this bunch of geeks for at least a good 6 months and we never exchange words. Horrible neighbor you say ? Well, not really. The 5 bachelors never showed their face in the neighborhood. They come home and hide in their shell. So, we never had the opportunity to send our warmest regards.
Dressed in my skimpy shorts and spaghetti top, whilst my brother in his “Ah Beng” shorts, we stormed over and walked into a stranger’s home uninvited. “Escuuuseee me … helloo …we are your neighbor” uttered my brother humbly. I stood behind my brother, my head poking out from behind, shying away like a 16 years old. “We were wondering ah … if you can share share your WIFI ah .. ?” blurted my brother, hitting the jackpot of honesty. By then, I was standing next to my brother, giving him my physical support. Little did I know, I was invisible in the eyes of the 4 eyed dude. He didn’t even pass a glimpse at me.
We went in with a mission and we came out, mission accomplished. Now I’m connected on WIFI at home. For better or worst ? It’s 2am in the morning now, and I’m still online.
Wow… you did that? Honest and brave. Yeah, beware the “on-line” bug … it can seriously “cripple” you and increase instances of “procrastination”.
lance: I was just the honest one, my brother was the brave one. haha
The interesting thing is that they’re okay with it :). What nice neighbours to not password protect their connection!
razzberry: of course they password protected it. else my brother and I wouldn’t have need to storm over for the password. hehe .. I’m not that kiasu, paid them RM30 for monthly usage. Apparently my skimpy top didn’t appeal to them ..
guess they it wasn’t skimpy enough ….
KA: hmmmmm…..grrrrrr……..
sorry cikgu … i meant
“guess they felt it wasn’t skimpy enough”.
