UPSR results was released yesterday. I was dissapointed, not with the results but with my students and their parents. Perhaps I didn’t deserve it. Perhaps I don’t have the right to ask for it. No one called to share the results, no one said “thank you”.
I am very proud with some of my students who have been failing in their BM exams before they came to seek help, received a glorifying “B” at the final stage. Yet, it wasn’t enough for the parents.
I am extremely overjoyed with some of my students who have been receiving “C” all their life in Mathematics and Science before they met me, received a remarkable “A” yesterday. Sadly, not a single word was passed on to me.
Who will remember me ?
to do goodness without expecting things in return…thats what makes the world a better place..
Hi May Leng,
It’s me, Patrick Yee. I fully agree with the above remark about how great a person is, for doing goodness without expecting things in return but i believe what you’ve written has got nothing to do with it.
Your students and parents are simply “ungrateful”, that’s all. This is very common in Malaysia and i meet this people all the time. Their outlook looks decent, educated, prosperous but once you turn aside, you’ll notice how ungrateful this lot are.
